These terms cover your use of the Lock In Chinese website at lockinchinese.com and the Lock In Chinese app for iPhone. By using the site or the app, you agree to them.

Subscription terms (Lock In Pro)

Lock In Chinese is free to download. Quizzes, the word map and the lock-screen widget work without paying. Lock In Pro is an optional auto-renewing subscription that unlocks re-arming the Screen Time seal and the unrestricted widget.

• Plans and price. Lock In Pro is offered as a yearly or monthly plan. The exact price, the plan length and any free-trial length are shown on the purchase screen in the app before you confirm, in your local currency, and they are what govern.
• Free trial. Where a free trial is offered, its length is stated on the purchase screen. You are not charged during the trial. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, the subscription begins and the first period is charged.
• Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period at the then-current price, until you cancel. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase, and again at each renewal.
• How to cancel. Cancel at any time on your iPhone: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Lock In Chinese → Cancel Subscription. Cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends to avoid the next charge. You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. We cannot cancel a subscription on your behalf.
• Where purchases happen. All purchases are made through Apple's App Store and are also subject to Apple's terms. Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies, not by us.
• Restoring. If you reinstall or change device, use Restore Purchases on the purchase screen. Your subscription is tied to your Apple ID.

Using the site and app

You agree not to misuse the site or app: no attempting to break, overload, or gain unauthorized access to our systems, and no using them to break the law. The app is provided for your personal, non-commercial use.

The app can seal apps you choose behind a vocabulary quiz using Apple's Screen Time framework. You choose which apps to seal, and you can unseal them at any time. Lock In Chinese is a study aid, not a security or supervision product.

Intellectual property

The Lock In Chinese name, the site design, and its original content belong to us. You may not copy or redistribute them without permission. Educational content you create or study progress you generate remains yours.

Disclaimer and liability

The site and app are provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent allowed by law. Lock In Chinese is a study aid; we do not guarantee any particular learning outcome. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the site or app.

Changes

We may update these terms. The effective date at the top of this page shows the current version; continued use after a change means you accept it.
